Before Maewyn Succat ..son of Calpunius ..

Came to the Land of Gaels
from Medieval Britain …ruled by Rome.

Before all those shenanigans….

Brigid was born ! (450 AD)
She was a Pagan and a Gael….
living in a Pagan Land….

But…
She heard the call of Magdalena *
and Yeshua..the Jew…
Who lived in sandy deserts ..
In far off Palestine.

They spoke of Peace…not War.
Of Love and healing… warmth and care,
Brigid’s fresh and eager heart
Was Inspired there!

Against the savagery of Rome,
She wandered as a comforter,
To spirits lost and low…

She welcomed every Outcasts ..
Sure and pure and strong…
Each one has their potential,
And each was born to smile.

For all of us are linked,
By soul and spirit line,
To that great infinity…
The Universal Divine.

The Cross of Reeds is simple.
Not symbolising pomp..
As part of living nature,
We and the reeds…
return to earth.
